Aug.23, 2016: A send-off ceremony was held at Shaolin Charity House for Zhao Hengxin and other students who passed the college entrance exam. Furthermore, Shaolin Temple, General Charity of Henan Province and people from all walks of life hand out red envelops to support the college-bound youth with their college education.
July 22, 2011: A dialogue through music was held in the Ciyun(clouds of loving kindness) Hall of Shaolin Temple, to practice Buddhists' compassion and lovingkindness and promote the children's future development. It was co-organized by Shaolin Ciyou( Loving kindness for children) Orphanage and international Committee for Promotion of Youth Arts Education( UNESCO Program of Arts Education) and supported by some Philanthropic artists and music education organizations in China.

Oct.16, 2010: Delegates from Yellow River Conservancy Commission revisited children of Shaolin Orphanage and celebrated the Chong Yang Festival together, which fell on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, hence also known as the Double Ninth Festival.

Dec.21, 2005: Thousands of loving parents came to Shangbujie Primary School and brought with them "Heng Yuan Xiang" brand sweater to the children of Shaolin Orphanage.
2004: Shaolin Temple established Shaolin Orphanage to adopt 100 orphans in batches who meet the requirements of inheritance of Shaolin culture. The first 50 adopted children have been studying in Shangpujie Primary School, one of the best primary schools in Dengfeng City. Except the nine-year compulsory education, they shall also learn some featured courses about Shaolin Kungfu, Shaolin Medicine, etc.
Dec.20-31, 2004: The second batch of relief funds and materials of the "Program for Helping 1000 Orphans" was started to distribute, which lasted for more than eighty days. 1039 orphans in 19 counties or cities in Henan, such as Hui County, Lankao, Shangqiu, were benefited.
2003: Shaolin Temple and Henan Provincial General Charity Federation initiated the "Program of Helping 1000 Orphans" so as to aid 1039 orphans in 19 counties in Henan Province. These children are from 4 to 15 years old. Since 2003, Shaolin Temple would provide them each with 560 Yuan, daily necessities and school supplies every year till their 18.
