On July 1, 2020, the second training course of Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin System (the junior stage) started in Dengfeng city. More than 130 Shaolin Kungfu lovers from around the country attended the event joyfully. Shaolin Temple’s abbot Yongxin, monastic manager master Yankai and Mr. Zheng Shumin of the Foreign Affairs Office as well as Mr. Hong Hao and Doc. Tian Wenbo from the martial arts school of Henan University, Mr. Cai Baozhong from the Shenyang Sport University, professor Xu Gang from the fine arts department of Henan University and so on attended the opening ceremony.
Abbot Yongxin introduced basic components as well as connotation and extension of Shaolin culture to everyone at the opening ceremony. As an important part of the fine traditional Chinese culture, Shaolin culture has become a cultural card of China. So far, tens of millions of people around the world are practicing Shaolin Kungfu. To better form ties with sentient beings, devote Chinese wisdom to the world, and make Shaolin Kungfu lovers be able to practice Shaolin Kungfu systematically and scientifically, Shaolin Temple and Henan University jointly rolled out the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system.
Abbot Yongxin also asked students to improve safety awareness and pay attention to heatstroke prevention. There are either Shaolin monks having practiced Kungfu for many years or young Kungfu warriors full of juice, using new technology and exchanging thoughts with people among these students. Abbot Yongxin hoped that all of them could exchange and interact with each other, completing the training course successfully.
Dean Hong Hao introduced the research, development and promotion in recent years and express a few hopes: firstly, hoping that teachers could give lessons carefully and strictly require students; secondly, all students could study and practice hard; thirdly, everyone could comply with rules of the training class and construct a good learning atmosphere.
Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system, as a set of grade evaluation criteria for Kungfu practitioners, aims to establish the standardized Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system to boost the spread of Shaolin Kungfu at home and abroad, and realize the goal to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and increase health of people around the world.The first training course of Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system opened in Dec. 2019 and over 170 Shaolin Kungfu practitioners obtained the first batch of Shaolin Kungfu grading certificates.
Shaolin Kungfu lovers actively signed up since the second training course of Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system (the junior stage) started. The committee of Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system will strictly comply with requirements of the epidemic prevention and control and its assessment to orderly receive students meeting training requirements.
The training invited master Yanpei and master Yange from Shaolin Temple, professor Cai Baozhong from the Shenyang Sport University, Doc. Tian Wenbo from Henan University as theory teachers; Shaolin Temple’s master Yankai, master Yanti, master Yanye, master Yandian, master Yanchan, master Yanji and master Yan fei as teachers of technology. All teachers will teach by personal example as well as verbal instruction and help students understand Shaolin culture, know about Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin system and finish the grade assessment of the Shaolin Kungfu junior stage in the next four days. Students passing the assessment will be awarded the certificate issued by abbot Yongxin. (Edited by Chanxin)
